Do you want to see a Golden Spurtle?

Get your minds out of the gutter!
A spurtle is an old Scottish cooking implement, and I just found out today, it's the award given to the champion porridge maker in Scotland. I've never been much of a fan of porridge, but I think that's partly because my Mum was not the best cook in the world, and it came out a bit solid and salty.
I do like the sound, and look, of the 'specialty' porridge, which had Glenfiddich in it - mmm!
scunnered: what would YOU do with porridge to liven it up and make a go for the Golden Spurtle?
