Stop the Musical Insanity!

It was fun when they made "Hairspray", a musical of a movie; then things got out of hand, and it seemed like just about any popular movie was up for grabs - "Young Frankenstein", "Spamalot" and "Shrek", to name a few.

Now, I think we can say we've reached the bottom of the barrel when people are talking about making a musical of a recently deceased reality TV show contestant.

Warhol's famous quip about everyone being famous for 15 minutes is rapidly coming true. At this rate, you can expect a music based on my life to be opening at The Diversionary for their 2011-12 season....

I did once see a play at the theatre I linked to (before it became a lot more serious about the kind of plays it showed) that had a prison shower scene.... :-)

Yep. And one with Jeff Stryker - in the *ahem* flesh - running down the center aisle buck naked. His "manhood" bounced on shoulders on either side, including mine.

When I was there, Stryker stopped in front of various audience members and waved ' it' in front of their faces. I was one of those who got that treatment, and when I didn't look at 'it' adoringly enough (he's not my type!), he hit me on the head with his monster and moved on...

I still have a dent on my forehead..... :-)
