NY 25: In the Alternate Universe with Colbert

Colbert, as part of his "Better Know a District" series, visited with the Congressman for NY 25, Dan Maffei.

Bless his heart - Maffei is a Dem in a pretty Republican leaning district, so it was pretty ballsy of him to take part in Colbert's hijinks, including a bit (around the 4th minute) where Colbert gets self-confessed Star Trek fan Maffei to imagine what he'd be like in the evil universe, complete with goatee....

Even though I don't really understand American Politics, that was pretty cool of that Congressman to be such a good sport.... and he's kinda cute too! :-)

It's good to see a politician agree to a bit of silliness. That's actually what first drew me to Obama - he was a guest on a radio quiz show a few years ago, and I remember being impressed with how easy-going he was, and that he wasn't afraid to goof around a bit.
