My movie debut is here!

No - I didn't get a role in one of 'those' amateur movies.... ;-)

I'm talking about my (very) small part in a Star Trek fanfilm created by a group called "Hidden Frontier", in collaboration with my Scottish Trek friends at "USS Intrepid" who have made their own movies.

The production is called "Operation Beta Shield", and while it is a bit 'insider-Trekkie', and perhaps a wee bit heavy on techno-babble, I think their production is pretty epic, and for an operation run out of someone's house, looks pretty darn good. I make a teeny appearance at about 13:30, then my scene where I utter two sentences of techno-babble and look very nervous is at about 17:00.

Enjoy!

Not quite up to [livejournal.com profile] low_fat_muffin acting standards, but, hey - it was my first time!

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] capthunter for getting me a little role in it. I didn't have to do the casting couch treatment to get it, either - darn! ;-)

Oh my goodness. You look, um...wonderful in that trek outfit... Teal, really a good colour for you.... Ok...I'll shut up now.

Me: "Captain Picard, Officer Inbhirnis and I are going to Holodeck 3 for a nude oil wrestling match."

Jean Luc Picard: "Make it so."

Yeah, about that whole casting couch thing. Matt Montgomery mentioned a restraining order or something. ;)

[identity profile] paterson-si.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Downloading it.... NOW! :)

[identity profile] inbhirnis.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
What?

I only called him, like 60 times a day, and hung around outside his apartment - what's his problem? ;-)

[identity profile] bear-left.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
As in, [livejournal.com profile] inbhirnis is ordered to use restraints?

Hmmm, there's a use of the tractor beam I've never considered...

[identity profile] inbhirnis.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Well - hope you enjoy me in yellow in this one... :-) I have a different uniform on.

[identity profile] inbhirnis.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh - sounds like something to use in my non-PG rated 'alternate universe' script, where everyone has a goatee and 'agonizers' are used frequently... ;-)

[identity profile] bear-left.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Then there's the Trill count-the-spots game... plus I bet the Bajoran noses might feel good in some places...

[identity profile] inbhirnis.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you like Trek/scifi?

If so, you might also like to visit Star TreK: Phase II (http://www.startreknewvoyages.com/) - they seem to have access to a sizeable budget - and have gotten some of the original series actors to take part. It's pretty impressive stuff.

[identity profile] inbhirnis.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh - behave! ;-)

[identity profile] bear-left.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
But you know how innocent I am!

[identity profile] capthunter.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Innocent like er..... someone that's not very innocent.

[identity profile] capthunter.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I heard it was 600. ;)

[identity profile] bear-left.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
My personal cloaking device must be malfunctioning... :)

[identity profile] capthunter.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it's non-existant. :)

*sneaks away into Quark's holosuite*

[identity profile] paterson-si.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I SAW YOU! :)

And I am not much of a TV fan in general, so it's hard to really get me excited. :) (for TV stuff that is LOL)

[identity profile] capthunter.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
And don't forget to clean up afterwards. I slipped and almost broke my neck last time.

[identity profile] starzinked.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] square-baker.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Congrats Roy! Next thing you'll be in a Big Finish audio!

[identity profile] artsycub.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Can I have your autograph? Signing a nude photo of yourself would be great.
;-)

[identity profile] bearzendurham.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
I LOVE THIS! I'm especially impressed with the soundtrack, and the story and acting are great! Thanks for sharing. I'm totally hooked.

. . . and I would totally served under your Captain.

[identity profile] inbhirnis.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Well, thank you! I think my delivery was pretty shaky, but it was my very first 'acting' experience - unless you count my two other stage outings - a bumble bee at the age of 6, and a soldier in our 'interpretation' of The Nutcracker Suite at the age of 10 or so.... :-)

[identity profile] inbhirnis.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Well, [livejournal.com profile] capthunter and his wife (who is also in the scene with me) are visiting me at the end of the month.

I'll ask him if he has a position for you..

[identity profile] inbhirnis.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Such a naughty boy - and thank you! :-)

[identity profile] inbhirnis.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks - it was a lot of fun! I was thrilled to be asked to take part.

[identity profile] inbhirnis.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Did you manage to understand our Scottish accents? :-)

[identity profile] paterson-si.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
Of course. Mostly LOL

[identity profile] badgerpdx.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I totally second that. You could be "son of Scotty!" (The inexplanably far cuter son...)

[identity profile] capthunter.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm always open to new positions. I've also lost almost a stone in weight since this was shot.

Jus' sayin'. :)

[identity profile] inbhirnis.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow! Good for you! I can't claim such success... :-(

[identity profile] capthunter.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Well I've been very, very good lately. :)

[identity profile] kev-bot.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, I think I downloaded one of the episodes of this. I remember eating beef-n-bleu-cheese salad while watching it, and now fan-made Trek makes me think of beef n bleu. Weird.
